We just broke ground in Bismarck, ND on a new 50-foot diameter grain bin for Hubbard Feeds. Big thanks to EDM for bringing us in on another project - we genuinely appreciate the trust and the opportunity to work alongside their team.
Working in an active industrial grain facility like this one is not your typical excavation job. There are existing structures close by, equipment moving in and out, and zero room for error when it comes to depth and layout. That is exactly the kind of situation where having the right crew and the right equipment makes all the difference.
For a bin this size, the site prep work has to be precise from the start. A solid, properly excavated foundation pad is what everything else gets built on. If the ground work is off, the whole project pays for it down the line. We take that seriously on every single job, but especially on commercial-scale builds like this one.
We ran our Bobcat compact excavator alongside the CAT skid steer to work through the tight spaces on this site. Compact equipment is a must when you are working that close to existing bin foundations and aeration systems. It lets us get the precision work done without crowding out the rest of the operation happening around us.
The excavation is done and the site is ready for the next phase. We will be heading back to complete the backfill and wrap up the finishing work. Stay tuned - we will post the finished product once it is all said and done.
