Pole Barn Pad Site Prep and Fill Work in Corcoran

Phase one of this pole barn pad in Corcoran is wrapped up. Here's what that actually looked like - tree clearing, stump removal, rough excavating, quality fill hauled in, and compaction. A lot happens before a single post gets set in the ground.

The site had mature trees that needed to come out completely - stumps and root balls included. Leaving that organic material in place would cause settlement problems down the road, and that's not something you want under a structure. We pulled them clean and pushed forward with shaping the pad area.

Once clearing was done, we brought in quality fill material and built the pad up to the right elevation. Compaction is where a lot of crews cut corners - but skip that step and you're looking at soft spots and cracking after the build crew shows up. We take that part seriously on every job.

We've got final grading still ahead on this one once the other trades wrap up their work. That's pretty common on projects like this - we come in for phase one, let the build happen, then come back and finish the grading around the structure so everything ties in clean. It keeps the whole site looking intentional, not just functional.
