When a barndominium build wraps up, the site work doesn't just handle itself. That's exactly what we were brought in to sort out on this Shakopee property - rough grade, no real access, and a yard that wasn't ready for anything yet. Big footprint, lot of ground to cover.
We hauled in 300 tons of class 5 limestone and put it down across a 600-foot driveway run. That's a long stretch of road, and it needed to be done right - graded clean, packed tight, and wide enough to actually be functional. We also built out a large parking area right at the building so there's plenty of room to move around, whether that's contractors finishing up inside or the homeowner pulling in with a truck and trailer.
The other piece of this was the black dirt work around the house. The ground around a new build is almost always a mess - construction traffic, uneven spots, raw subsoil sitting right at the surface. We spread black dirt around the perimeter and graded it smooth so the landscapers can come in and actually do their job without fighting the ground first. That handoff matters a lot more than people realize.
Site prep like this is what sets the next crew up for success. Landscapers need a consistent grade and good soil to work with. Homeowners need an access road that holds up. Getting those two things dialed in before everyone else shows up is exactly what this kind of excavating and custom grading work is built for. No guesswork, no shortcuts.
This is the kind of job we do start to finish - from rough conditions to a clean, usable site. Whether it's a long rural driveway, a parking area, or getting the ground ready around a new build, we know what it takes to hand a property off in solid shape.
